Ruby75
We are trying to get a MAC code so we can switch suppliers, cos quite frankly, the service and customer service has been abysmal these past couple of months,we have had so many problems. Now they won't respond to emails and hanging on the phone for an hour waiting for an advisor is getting ridiculous.
max
Do a search on here for plusnet and you'll find there are varying views on them. Personally, I don't have a problem with them and I've been with them for over 2 years.
GabbleRatcht
Try being more polite and you may get more answers. And welcome to the forums. I am with plusnet and there are many threads on this site about Plusnet if you search. My service went down at a very inconviant time for me a couple of weeks ago. Power cut at server in London. Lost everything, connection wise. But this will not stop me using Plusnet because that is not their fault and the rest of the time it is great. LiamM
Sorry to hear you've been having problems. Is there anything I can help you with? What problems have you been having? PlusNet don't communicate by email. Email is not considered secure and/or accountable enough for account / support queries and cancellation requests etc... You need to raise a 'ticket' or 'question' via the Help Assistant on the portal (help . plus . net). Have you been through this route?
vinceallen
I think that Plusnet are the best of a bad bunch, all ISP's tend to be the same. Plusnet have had a few issue lately, but seem to be improving. I would stick with them
GraZ
I personally hate plusnet for their fair usage system, plus the fact they kept charging users £40 a month for 2mbit when 8mbit were still in talks by LLU. Their excuse was "it places you in the top queue for 8mbit", if i had carried on waiting it would have been a full year until getting 8mbit. Only then did i find out i could get exactly the same package for £24.99. this is going back afew years though. I found their customer support excellent compared to UkOnline, however i prefer the 'real' unlimited downloading, not one with a limit of 60gb a month. Plusnet actually do have download limits in place, it isnt actually a set limit but if you breach 150GB per month over a three month period you will be sent a nasty letter telling you to curb your ways or they will cancel your contract. I know this as i used to work for plusnt tech support, good ISP though they do allow people to stay on old accounts that cost a ton when they should be upgraded and pay what everyone else does. Draggletail
I left them about for months ago and got the mac code on the second request. Did it all by email from one of their web pages BTW. I'm with Nildram now and am happy with them. Nildram
alkatraz
Did it all by email from one of their web pages BTW. Nildram Find a dictionary to explain to you that e-mail and web forms are NOT the same thing.
DaBouncer
I have used plus.net and left when there service started to go seriously down hill. In my time I have used FairADSL (shuddering at mentioning their name), Pipex (great service / poor customer support), Plus.net (great service which turned really REALLY bad and customer support even worse), Bulldog (there service managed to give me 56k speeds and downtime of more than 2 days in the 2 months I was with them). I have been with zen internet nearly a year now and although more expensive than the others, they have been consitnently excellent.
