AWilson91
9 goals in 2 games for the former Middlesbrough manager, Steve Mclaren. Great start to his job as the England manager. Fair enough, 5 goals against Andorra was pretty much expected but 4-0 against Euro 2004 Champions, Greece, is a cracking first result. Plus Steve Mclaren is just as enthusiastic as the players for the win (you'd never see Sven stood up at the side of the pitch, shouting across to the team!). Nice to see more than 1 striker upfront aswell, rather than just playing Crouch and dishing out the constant long balls. Should be another easy 3 points on Wednesday against Macedonia, if so, team morale will be flying. Hope this is the start of great things to come! NPB!
I hope so too, but Greece are terrible and a shadow of the side that won Euro 2004. That being said, you can only beat what is in front of you. A good start for McLaren
markwit
I fear the honeymoon period will be over soon, and the red tops will soon be sharpening their knives. Steve McClanger anyone?

luckycharm
Owen Hargreaves - what a player! I'm full of respect for him...he took so much stick in the run up to the World Cup and for me ended up being England's best player...unlucky not to score yesterday! Hopefully he'll be playing in the premiership soon.

Ally68
Indeed, same here! But cant see it happening as hell probs be playing at bayern munich for a long time to come yet! Yes, I agree. Ulli Hoeness is a stubborn ****** when he wants to be and he has been known to wreck a footballers career before if he finds out that they don't want to play for his beloved Bayern. Mind you, I heard Owen Hargreaves signed an extension to his contract before the World Cup which IMO was a bit Naive.

Shame it didnt find the back of the net though, but his power and accuracy were spot on, who needs David Beckham!
tosh13
Hargreaves deserved a goal yesterday , he was superb shame about Lampard he was poor again & Gerrard although his goal was class he let too many passes go astray, he needs to sort that out then he will be the finished article.Crouch amazes again a bloke of his size & a great touch on the ball 10 goals in 9 games he is gunning for Charltons 49 goals. AWilson91
Peter Crouch, i really dont like the bloke. i personally think he is a waste of space, he just happens to be in the right place at the right time (an English version of Ruud Van Nistelrooy!). When Owen is fit and Rooney is not banned for 1 reason or the other , that is the England Strike force. Jermaine Defoe is better than crouch also but just doesn't get recognised for it as Crouch is always playin.
