ANGELUS
Hello fellow peeperoo's I have an external HD caddy with an 80gb Maxtor stuffed into it and it was running fine and dandy until I turned my PC on this morning and it says when I try to open the drive from my computer this message. 'L:\ Is not accessible, the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable' Now just my luck - I've got about 50gb's worth of movies and other bits and bobs saved on it that I really wanted to backup but never got round to- my bad. Any ideas how to recover the data and does anyone know a decent program to sort it for me? Cheers me luvs
Greybeard
Well it's just saying the drive is not accessible, not that the data is corrupt. Is it a USB caddy ? - could just be a bad connection somewhere. Best way to check the drive is with IDE and power connectors from the PC motherboard/PSU. Guest
If all else fails then take the drive out of the caddy and plug it directly in to your mobo, should be IDE, and see what happens
