DaBouncer
Just having a flick through the BBC website and was appalled to find this news report from our city. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/south_yorkshire/5305568.stm Youths attacked a dog with an iron bar before stealing his mate and their five newborn puppies from a garden in Sheffield, police said. Witnesses saw two teenage boys hitting the Staffordshire Bull Terrier outside a house in the Firth Park area. They then went to a garden shed, where the female had given birth less than an hour before, and stole the dogs. Police condemned the theft as "cruel and heartless" and appealed for anyone with information to come forward. The male dog suffered cuts and bruising to the head. 'Appalling behaviour' Pc Pat Dye said the boys had put the puppies into a black holdall bag and used a lead to walk off with the female dog in the direction of Dial Close. She said: "This was a cruel and heartless thing to do, the puppies were less than an hour old. "We desperately need to trace the offenders responsible for this appalling behaviour and appeal to the public with information to come forward in confidence." The first boy was white, slim, and wore a blue hooded top which covered his face. The second boy was black and wore a black jacket. I'm an animal lover and basically hoping someone might either know something about this or know someone who has offered for sale some of these puppies in the Firth Park area of Sheffield. If you have any information, no matter how insignificant it may be please ring 101 and speak to the police. Lets hope they get caught and get what they deserve as this is appalling. kittenta
Does anyone find it strange that they took them only an hour after the birth, as if they were told they had been born? Not sure they would have gone and looked in the off chance. They took a holdall too so they expected to have something to put in it.

Think I gotta agree with this. Why would anyone keep their newborn pups in a fuffing shed? Idiocy.
