goldenfleece
I use FASTMAIL for my business email, but my particular server has apparently been not working for 24 hours.... I am hoping all my INBOX and folders have not been eaten by some bug....it doesnt effect all Fastmail accounts, but mine, on server 3, is dead....should I be worried all my stored archive business mail will be deleted? .the fastmail service blog reveals.... "One of the filesystems on one of our servers (server3) failed last night due to a filesystem bug. After a bit of work we were able to bring up the users on other partitions on server3. However, mail delivery was suspended while we were doing this and so there was a period (most of the US day) where incoming mail was being delayed by around an hour. The queues have all emptied back out now, and delivery should be happening normally. Incoming mail for users on the affected partition is still being queued, but these users are currently unable to log in via the web interface or IMAP. At the moment, it looks like it will take another 30 hours to finish checking the filesystem, at which point hopefully we’ll be able to get these users working again. Unfortunately, there is no faster option to get that set of mailboxes back online. "
goldenfleece
now 36 hours.......I am getting fed up....can webmail services be trusted? Maybe I should move all my business email accounts to a POP3 service?
goldenfleece
I run multiple business so Fastmail is ideal as you can have many many alias email accounts and use virtual domains thro them as well, all running from one main account with different inboxes and folders, etc...much easier than having say 6 different POP3 accounts all over the place....... sccsux
much easier than having say 6 different POP3 accounts all over the place....... I've got over 40 different email addresses, on 16 different domains/servers (not including any freemail addresses - gmail, yahoo etc) and I use TB's filtering/accounts to fetch the emails from the servers to the relevant local folders:thumbsup:.
