the-lioness
right this is a bit of a random topic but..... there is this woman at my work and she watches every time i eat something. i have just had a mr kipling apple pie and from the corner of my eye i could see her watching with the upmost fascination- her gob was hanging open!!! it happens a lot and every day without fail she asks me what ive got for lunch and watches me eat it...... other ppl have noticed and i find it really creepy. im a slim person and i enjoy food and she is a vegetarian and she has got isssues with food- its all she talks about!!! i think she might get pleasure from watching me consume fat calorie ridden foods so it makes her feel virtuous and healthy!!!! what would you do in this situation?? has it ever happened to you? im thinking of confronting her cos no one likes to be watched like a hawk everytime they eat!! cheers- DR XXX
hmr44
God, I'd hate that? Next time she does it just ask her what shes looking at, in a nice way of course! Maybe she is just jealous that you can eat a lot, and she cant.

Dark Moomin
Hi, I must confess to be somewhat similar to this lady (tho a little less creepy I hope!) I love cake sweets, chocolate etc etc but battle with my weight. SO I do tend to live vicariously throuhg other people's food on occasion.. but not to the extent of gawp[ing as you describe! From my point of view its more about imagining the enjoym, ent of eating whatever the morsel is, rather tyhan feeling virtuous about not eating it. I know I have issues with food, and as you say it seems this lady does too. How about offering her some of what you have (not in a nasty way, just asking if she's like some), as an office do you generally share goodies like cakes and biscuits? Alternatively I would just speakto her about it. Again, don't be confrontational, she may not realise how obvious/unnerving she is being. And if you have an odd relationship with food, being erminded of it in a confrontational way is never nice. For example, for me even though I maty nominally be on a diet, nothing is more annoying than having the whole office comment on the fact you've decided to have a cake today cos you really fancied it. So don't talk to her in front of everyone. Maybe she needs some help and support to sort her food habits out. Good luck whatever happens - I like to think that I am learning how to have a more normal relationship with food, but I can see how to people that have never had an odd relationship with it that how we are can be pretty trying, I have exasperated my other half so many times!! *Ryan*
If people watch me while i eat, i tend to hide while eating! If i encountered this woman your talking about i would try and avoid conversations with her!

Without being confrontational, chew your food and, at the moment before swallowing look straight at her & stick your tongue out with the mish mash on, go bozz-eyed & say ''Nurrrrrrrrrr!'' If this fails, swizz your chair round so she can only see the back of your head
