Macfluff
Can anyone tell me where I can buy paint in Sheffield (or even Yorkshire) that does not contain volatile organic compounds (VOC) that can cause nose and throat problems, dizziness and a whole lot of other issues including global warming (I know its hard to believe!)? I am after some natural paint to cover my new house- but I can't seem to find a supplier in the City. Can anyone help or does anyone know of an ethical website I can look at? Cheers:)
medusa
I was rather hoping that there would be lots of responses to this thread, cos the VOCs set off my asthma, but it looks like both of us might be disappointed.
Titian
THIS company are very good. They have a stockist in Stroud and will deliver. I don't know what delivery times are like but the organisiation I work for have a place in Stoud and we generally are back and forth from there. If the delivery time is a long one PM me and I'll see what I can do. Can't promise anything though.

maelstrom
Might I suggest www(dot)ecopaints(dot)co(dot)uk, if you are interested in further information on ethically sound home improvements, I'd like to draw your attention to the South Yorkshire Energy Centre which has just opened at Heely City Farm. Their website is www(dot)syec(dot)co(dot)uk I think they might be the people to talk to for advise. p.s sorry for the odd way of showing the web addresses, as I can't post URLs due to lack of posts
Macfluff
Thanks! I am a bit worried about buying paint over the internet- might need to see what it looks like on the walls before I buy a big pot! I am still looking- although I have since read that B&Q are the best of a bad bunch- low VOC levels and quite cheap- so I think I might go and get some testers.
