Does anyone remember the "crumpet man"

was just reading all these "do you remember" posts and i have a vague memory of a man selling crumpets on a bicycle on a sunday afternoon...does anyone remember him. I lived on Gray street at the time Andover drive area

I Have fond memories of crumpet before senility and old age crept in Arthur

a crumpet man used to come round the abc streets and bottomrooard he had a shop at hillsborough

 

An old man with a bike and a flat cap used to come round the Wybourn estate on a Sunday afternoon shouting crumpets,pikelets and oat cakes :hihi:

He must have had a long round? :suspect:

i remember the crumpet and oatcake man he used to ride a bicycle up danville street they were really good.

Read my post from May this year[ Does anybody remember the oatcake man] I think it was the same guy!

 

I think there was more than one. In the early fifties there was a bespectacled guy that sold his wares from a bike with a basket on the front around the Lowfields area. He was known as the pikelet man.
