I lived on Gray street at the time Andover drive area i remember the crumpet and oatcake man he used to ride a bicycle up danville street they were really good. In the early fifties there was a bespectacled guy that sold his wares from a bike with a basket on the front around the Lowfields area. He was known as the pikelet man.
