ToothRott
Hi, I have just spent an age carefully crafting a package to be no more than 25mm thick in order to send it as a Large Letter (because I'm tight). I get to the Post Office and low and behold, it doesn't fit through the "official" size board. It fits through the one I made at home, which I've measured at 25mm. So is it just me, or does anybody else reckon those new perspex size boards are tighter than 25mm, forcing more mail through at the higher rate? melthebell
you sure you can measure correctly? Guest
I'd put money on yours being incorrect. If the PO's one was smaller than it should be, someone with a ruler and a spare few minutes could cause a hasty recall and much bad press.
Cyclone
go back with a tape measure and check.
Anna0166
If you do go and check, will you post wahat you find on here? I'm intrigued now. Please let your one be right, it would just be funny is the PO have to recall their boards. Although it would also cost a lot of money, it would show people what a stupid idea is was in the first place!
RazorSHarp
I've got an old mangle you could run it through, that should squish it another couple of mill. By the way, out of curiosity, how much more was it than a normal letter
Carmine
Storm in a teacup. I'm betting that decimalisation was more of a p*sser.
7hills
i posted a small letter yesterday, had to be 5mm or under, it was only a couple of a4 sheets in an envelope - she tried it and it wouldnt fit, i asked if i could make a stronger crease in the letter so it would fit (as i didnt fold it that tight) she aid i couldnt tamper with the letters and that it would have to go as a large letter, costing £1.37 special delivery! wtf it was only 3 sheets of A4. I also sent a parcel to america last week, it cost me 12 dollars to get it sent here and £18 to send it back, why do we get ripped off so much!! Twitcher
I post a lot of jiffy's out always the same size and went to a different post office yesterday. They always go through the sizer OK and yesterday they tried to claim it wouldn't go thru and wanted to charge me for a packet as opposed to a 'large letter' I told them to give it a slight pull and hey preso it went thru! Are they on commission or what? big different from large letter to £1 packet.
