Oh dear

This happened right outside the Thomas Tripp in Lymington, somewhere i used to go for an evening out.

I dunno when it became so rough, although i do remember once teasing another drinker in there for carrying a knife - i told him to return it to his mums cutlery drawer...

The following week the same knife was used to stab someone, i wont be teasing anyone with a knife again :loopy:

What gets my back about this is that he got 9 years for injuring a copper, but joyriders get 3 years or less for KILLING people!!! The police are no better or worse than you or me!

9 years - this is modern Britain!

He got a minimum four-year prison term for hitting the policewoman. He was also given a one-year prison sentence, to run concurrently, for dangerous driving and was banned from driving for six years.

Maybe because of the intent to hurt the person on the ground, whereas I dont think many joyriders intend to hurt people. I would guess that's the distinction.

Spot on.

Someone who neglectfully (stupidly/carelessly) leaves a bathroom door open resulting in a toddler falling into a bath of scalding water deserves a slap for their idiocy, whereas someone who purposely drops the toddler into the bath for the hell of it deserves a good kicking - repeatedly - for the intent.

Best analogy I can think of at the moment.:(
