artisan
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/north_yorkshire/5297588.stm What do these people hope to gain by these silly protests? I think they have no idea what they are doing. They probably think that electricity is some kind of magic. I have actually met people who think that electricity is nothing to do with the power stations. Some people also have the strange idea that the water vapour coming off the cooling towers is some kind of pollution. To cut down power lines to outlying farms and hamlets is disgraceful and could leave people at great risk. No matter what these pathetic idealists think we cannot live without electricity and all its benefits. The only way to improve its quality of generation is by Engineers and Physicists working on the problem. Tree hugging ageing hippies and earth mothers have no place in the process. (BTW I am an aging hippy myself, but an Engineer, not a tree hugger)
shoeshine
I saw the TV News coverage of them setting up camp with tents and using a Saw to saw some wood etc. How to they think they were made? Completely laughable.
Jabberwocky
Id class it as terrorism. Simple as that, and Id prosecute them the same way that terrorists are prosecuted.
donuticus
Reminds me of when my brother and I were security guards at the site of the Birminigham Northern Relief Road (m6 toll). All the tree huggers turned up and climbed all the trees. Anyway one day the road building company got an injunction saying we could "remove" the protesters from the site. So me my brother and the other guards started to play a game called "Knock a tree hugger out the tree" all the staff who wanted to play put a quid in a bucket and threw stones at the crusties first person to knock someone out of the tree got the money ion the bucket. Twas a nice little earner. I even heard rumours that a couple of coppers had a go.

Phanerothyme
So me my brother and the other guards started to play a game called "Knock a tree hugger out the tree" all the staff who wanted to play put a quid in a bucket and threw stones at the crusties first person to knock someone out of the tree got the money ion the bucket So what happened to the crusties when they fell out of the trees. I would imagine they were seriously injured (unless they were very small trees). Throwing stones at people for fun and profit! I wish I was a 'security guard'. Sounds like 'fun'.
