Claire28
I mean what is this stupid 70mph limit. Who respects this limit???!
neeeeeeeeeek
It should be 100. Driving back from near Carlise on Monday just about everyone was cruising along at around 100mph and it was perfectly fine.
jena76
i think its crap! people break this rule all the time. they also break the 30mph limit which aswell imo is way to slow. i think it time these limits where changed not by alot but a little certaily wont make much difference:thumbsup:
DaFoot
Here we go again...speed limit arguements Personally I would say keep it 70 because everyone drives at 80+ anyway. Increase the limit = increase in real speed IMO. It seems the de facto limit is 80 ATM

jena76
So, people break a rule so that rule should be scrapped? Like your thinking when the rule is ridiculous yes it should be scrapped and made to a limit that people will stick to! imo 30mph is stupid not many people stick to it anyway so like i said change it a little. So, by your logic, we need a limit that people will stick to. So, what about the alternative of enforcing the current speed rules? Like, taking away a driver's license on first conviction for a speeding offence? That would greatly contribute to enforcing the current speed limits ... don't you think? The current speed limits are stupid and far too slow! unless your a sunday driver of course and stick to the speed limit and get on everyones nerves then in that case why bother cus wouldnt want u to panic as soon as u reached 31mph
DaFoot
The current speed limits are stupid and far too slow! Based on what? Your desire to go faster? People will always do daft manuvoures (sp?), step into the road without warning, let dogs run off lead etc etc. faster speeds = less time to react. I will agree that sometimes the 30 can feel a little slow/inappropriate, but then I figure there may be something about the road I dont know about.
