Zebra
We tried to eat out at The Brincliffe Oaks last night and had a nightmare with the service, the stink of toilets and the state of the highchairs so left without eating. Then tried the Royal Oak on Abbeydale Rd Sth and found no child facilities whatsoever, we ended up at The Chequers in Coal Aston, Dronfield who had good, clean highchairs and plenty of space to put them and a reasonably quick service with excellent staffing. Plus they have the Wacky Warehouse next door! I though we could have a list of parent and child friendly venues on here so we don't all have to drive for miles trying to find somewhere like we did. So, my recommendation for being child friendly is The Chequers, Coal Aston!
cosywolf
Great idea, Zebra! If you're at Meadowhall and you want to breastfeed (or bottlefeed or put your feet up, if no-one else is there) Mothercare have those fabulous chairs they sell, the back and forth rockers, in the breastfeeding room. Well worth a trip, tho there's only two, and th rest of the room is no picture. BUT, the changing and feeding room is no place to feed your child. They may have a bottle warmer (tho I don't believe in them I know some do), but why would you deserve to feed your child amongst the smell of filthy nappies on a bench when the breastfeeders get the comfy chairs? Oops, sorry, rant... Sheffield Wildlife Trust Sunflower Cafe, every Thursday, 11am-2pm, 37 Stafford Road, S2 2SF: Community cafe, breast feeding friendly, child friendly, staff bring their kids, there are toys and a garden, and sometimes children's activities, and a healthy, child-friendly menu. Plus me, of course...well known for taking over babysitting duties of tiny babies while Mum and Dad get a few mouthfuls of food down them. The Bohemia on Chesterfield Road: toys to play with, kiddie's pictures on the walls, easygoing, smoothies and other nice food and drinks at nice prices, non smoking, open at night...just not a huge amount of room
cosywolf
Oh dear, I've just been stretching my mind, trying to remember all the wonderful experiences we've had eating out with cosycub, and I've finally figured it out... We have no life. We don't go out. All the places I know are cafes, lol. Daytime haunts to fill a long Monday. Oh dear.
