lalaland
Does anyone know where I can get a box or pakaging suitable to return a 32" LCD TV and stand to Ebuyer from? We got one from them and it's developed a fault, so to get a replacement we have to package the TV up, have it collected, tested and then next week get a new one sent out to us. The only problem is that the box it came it was rather large, so we threw it out and now Ebuyer want us to package the TV and stand correctly to return it to them for testing tomorrow morning! Any ideas where I can get packaging or a box from??? Thanks
medusa
You can buy large house moving boxes (the sturdy double walled kind) from suppliers of stuff for moving house. Then all you'll need is a half hundredweight of bubble wrap, also available from the same suppliers.
GrinderBloke
See if Comet / Currys / Dixons have a similar sized box, maybe one from a demo unit. When they offer ex display items for sale then never have the correct packaging. Good luck with Ebuyer

GrinderBloke
You may be best driving your TV to Ebuyer rather than using a carrier, as Ebuyer may claim that your TV wasn't packaged in its original and therefore suffered damage in transit. I offered to do that and they said I must send it via courier
lalaland
Just asked again if I can drop it off and the reason I am not allowed is because Ebuyer is a secured site and only staff and courier staff get access to it. So I need to find a box and packaging asap
medusa
Found this on the net- hope there's something useful on it for you: http://www.touchsheffield.com/business/search/typeId/225/type/Cardboard+Box+Manufacturers/loc/Sheffield/postcode/S1
lalaland
Thanks for the link, unfortunately none of them appear to do my size I tried the storrage place on Westbar in Sheffield too, they don't go that big either. I called Ebuyer again explaining I can't pack it and as they won't let me drop it off, what can I do, they suggested contacting the manufacturer and trying to arrange a box from them and that's all they can suggest. I am having serious doubts about buying expensive purchases from them again, if this was from a highstreet store I'd have paid slightly more but I'd have the option to take it back myself and also get an exchange then and there instead of waiting a week. I am starting to wonder if it was worth the savings in cash compared to the down sides now. Any other suggestions welcome.
lalaland
I bought 35m of bubblewrap (got loads left ) and a reel of Fragile marked tape. I also used 2 cardboard boxes cut up and folded, it's packed nice and safely now, so it's off back to Ebuyer today to be handled by their returns team, tested to make sure it's faulty as I say and then a new one sent out to me in a week or so. This has really opened my eyes about online shopping. It's cheaper, but when there's a problem with a product you have a harder time getting it resolved. Had this have been a highstreet store I'd have driven it to them, showed them in store it wasn't working right and left with a new TV the same day. Instead I have to pack my unit up, wait for a courier, wait for a week or so without any TV and then get my new one installed.
