beansforyou   10 #1 Posted August 29, 2006 Can anyone tell me how to tune my TV so I can pick up the local Calendar news.  You know, the bit when they go ' and now to news in your area' I seem to get news from Bradford, lincoln etc, but not sheffield/south yorkshire.  I have sky, is it on a different channel? Mathom   10 #2 Posted August 29, 2006 Do you still have a terrestrial version of ITV tuned in on your set? I do for emergencies (e.g. snow on dish), and I just hit the button and go back to scratchy old analogue for five minutes.
 Share this content via...
phawley   10 #3 Posted August 29, 2006 Calendar East is transmitted from Belmont which is over near Market Raisen, this covers the Lincoln area. Calendar South comes from the Sheffield mast at Crosspool, this gives the more local news. And the Leeds, Bradford area is covered from Emley Moor which is Calendar Central.  Unless you live in a very good reception area you will need an aerial pointing at the relevant transmitter for the version that you are wanting. Hope this helps.
 Share this content via...

yorkiepudd   10 #6 Posted August 29, 2006 I think that the ITV channel you receive via Sky is determined by Sky based on your postcode... the only other ITV channel you can change to is ITV London which is on 9xx (sorry, can't remember exactly).  Now BBC, you can watch any regional variation, again all available on 9xx (just after the pron channels)
 Share this content via...
beansforyou   10 #7 Posted August 29, 2006 I don't think I can be bothered trying to sort out my aerial/tune the tv etc, like already said it's all leeds news anyhow, and you get much more upto date gossip...I mean news...on here
 Share this content via...

Birty   10 #9 Posted August 30, 2006 In our house it depends which room you are in. In the dining room (back of the house) we get the Leeds version. In the living room (front of the house) we get Sheffield!! How wierd is that.
 Share this content via...
never wrong   10 #10 Posted August 30, 2006 its not weird at all if you look on your roof you have two aerials one is for Emley Moor and the other is Crosspool and each transmit different news so to anybody who wants to watch Calendar South you will have to find out if can recieve the Crosspool transmitter a quick guide is if you can see it you can get it.
