4bes   10 #1 Posted August 26, 2006 Hi, I was wondering if anyone with local knowledge knew of an alternative garage that could service a VW polo with the offical parts for a reasonable price. I also need to get it MOT at the same time.  I figure because the car is now 4 years old and out of warranty I might as well save some money, rather than pay full wack at a VW dealership.  Cheers
 Share this content via...

367squadron   10 #3 Posted August 26, 2006 I'm pretty sure theres a Garage that specialises in VW's just off Regent Street in the city centre. Can't remember the name for you but it's behind Cavendish just off West Street.  They do say they service all cars too. Maybe its worth contacting them. lalaland   10 #9 Posted August 27, 2006 I use Garrison Motors in Hillsborough for my VW instead of guilders. I know it's a Pegeuot dealers, but their express fit team do excellent work and are a lot cheaper than Guilders who seem to charge extortionate prices for the same work and parts.  I got a quote for some work on my last car from Guilders and it was about £20 over double than what Garrison Motors charged me. They even used genuine parts, the only difference was that they were fitted in a garrage with a Pegeuot badge instead of a VW badge on the outside of it.  Does anyone know why Guilders is so expensive? Is it just because they sell VWs and Audis? You can buy the same cars cheaper elsewhere and get the work carried out on them for cheaper elsewhere, so why do people still use them??? jim-p   10 #12 Posted August 29, 2006 Go to Volksgear on Ecclesfield Rd - between Ecclesfield and Wincobank. 0114 2452191. I took my golf there and got an service and MOT for around £115. I will be using them again. They get on with the job without any bulls**t. As you can see by their name they are a specialist VW garage.
