That time of year again and my Alpha combi has packed in again.

It's only three years old and the diverter valve has gone again. I can get a repair kit and I also need a new diverter motor as the other is full of water, £120 for both.

I thought it was the diverter switch at first and that cost me £50.

Can't get the new parts until Wednesday next week, so no hot warter for me.

This will be the third diverter it's had.

hi verona

make sure you turn the electrics off when changing the diverter motor

as when we contracted for rotherham 2010 i got a bit too cocky when

changing one and got a big wallop from the 240v,ring alpha and tell

them the problem, they are not as bad as people make out.

any other problems with your Alpha boiler give us a call.

Alpha specialists.

Cheers folks. To be fair it's pretty easy to replace, I just wish the parts would last longer. Seems to be a common prooblem on this boiler.

It started with little pools of water collecting on the floor but I couldn't see where it was coming from.

I have had the system flushed out twice but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

The model number is Alpha HE33

Parts are . Diverter valve motor 1.018064

Diveter valve assembly 3.017174 (Or it may be called a valve repair kit)

It's basically the plastic nut that fits to the valve with a spindle with rubber washers that runs through the valve. The motor then clips on to the plastic nut.

Hope that makes sense. I would need them no later than Tuesday though.

Cheers.

If your having to keep putting a service kit in your diverter valve have you thought you may be better replacing it ?? and seeing id that lasts any longer,

although thry are expensive about £145 last time I looked, Alpha 's have always been renowed for faulty diverter valves but in theory you should be having to put a service kit on every year

I have a Vaillant Eco Plus Combi and need help!

Initially it stopped due to the F22 low pressure fault.

I topped up the pressure to around 1.0 bars (just under haf way on the gray pressure gauge) which solved the problem... or so I thought, about 2 hours later the heating packed in again and when i checked the boiler it was leaking and displaying F22 error again.

I've had a plumber out tonight who's located the source of the leak but could not fix the problem as it will require a new part.

I've investigated and found that it's coming from the bottom of the pump or one of it's parts?

See page 10 part 32. http://www.vaillant.co.uk/stepone2/data/downloads/29/43/00/0020010871_05.pdf

Is there anyone out there that can point me to someone who can repair this ASAP as it's getting pretty damn cold without any heating!

Help and advice much appreciated!

Would need to see the leak for myself to check the source, could be from AAV, a pipe on the pump block, the block itself or the pump itself......but if it is this section that it is not difficult once the correct part is found. In Hull (ideal :D) tomorrow and busy Wednesday but could have a look Thursday pm with a view to fixing Friday, if that is any good to you, cheers, Steve

Just had a call from my supplier and Alpha don't have the part in stock until first week in December! How do they think people are supposed to go on with no hot water.

Luckily for me, my supplier has rang a load of other suppliers and managed to find the part I need.

Why didn't Alpaha let him know they didn't have any stock when he oredered it last week?????

Ah well, back to boiling the pans and kettle.......

back from a visit to Ideal boilers in Hull. The visit has only helped confirm my belief that the logic plus is the best value, best spec boiler currently on the market. Cant find any negatives about this boiler and would gladly fit one in my own home. Well done Ideal and keep it up.

Let us see only time will tell They are still only on their 1st year.

Baxi and valliant's latest models have been on the market around 4 + years so at the moment my confidence lays with them.
