gnvqsos   10 #517 Posted February 7, 2008 thanksfor reply comp heat.It was a SIME super 90.I have now sorted it with help from CORGI pal.The 100mA on the PCB had blown.I take it you dislike this make.I must have been lucky as in 11years I have merely replaced clock, diaphragm, safety valve and this fuse(approx. cost £150 inc.parts and labour). Can you tell me why they should be avoided as my mum needs a new boiler soon. What would you recommend? Complete-Heat   10 #519 Posted February 7, 2008 Its just a boiler thats well known for breaking down. You've done well only spending £150 in 11 years. Usually its the thermistors that go as they have a very fine tolerence (so keep a couple of 10k ones spare).  Agree with John - Go for Vaillant Ecotec plus model, Worcest greenstar, or Baxi Duo-tec or platinum (crikey John, i can't beleive i said Baxi )
 Share this content via...

RebeccaB   10 #521 Posted February 12, 2008 I need a quote for a new boiler installing, and 1nr additional radiator.  I know there's a massive thread on boilers, but its gone rather off track to what i need.  I want to know of any recommended companies people have used in last year.  Currently my boiler is in the chimney breast in the kitchen, and i want the new combi-boiler installing on a wall, as I'm wanting my kitchen done too.  Any recent recommendations would be great  Thanks
 Share this content via...
