EUCLID11 10 #601 Posted October 13, 2018 Hi, just reading some of the posts. Pye Bank School has reopened as Astrea Acadamy. My young one has just started there, the very first class. Much of the old school has been renovated, and looking at the stonework, it really leaves you in awe at the craft work, to say “they don’t build them like that anymore” is an understatement. It would have been criminal if they had knocked it down, but a guess there has been so many equally beautiful buildings knocked down in Sheffield. Anyway, the old school is alive and kicking!!! And often wonder, if walls could talk, them walls could certainly tell a tail. its cheering to hear this. My first school in 1954. When I saw it all boarded up I thought its time was up. We know what happened to Joe, and how well he has done, but what about some of the others? I often wonder about a lad called Leslie Harpin, who I remember as a friendly lad, and I think we may have been pals in those days. Hi Redfyre Just thought I would reply to let you know my father Leslie (Les) Harpin is still with us although he has been very poorly but I am very happy to report he’s had his 82nd birthday. His brother Leonard passed away several years ago now. It’s nice to know you have some fond memories of him.
 Share this content via...
