R I P Peter Yarrow.

Peter of Peter, Paul and Mary fame has died aged 86.

This folksy trio had quite a few hits in the ‘60s including ‘Puff the Magic Dragon’ and ‘Leaving on a Jet Plane’.

They also helped Dylan reach a wider audience in ‘63 when they included two of his songs, ‘Don’t think twice, It’s all right’ and ‘Blowin’ in the Wind’on their 3rd album ‘In the Wind’.

 

R I P Peter. Another one gone from one of the best decades for music.

Well I never knew that and wouldn’t condone for one minute such appalling behaviour. Sadly it’s not the first example of celebrities taking advantage of impressionable youngsters and it won’t be the last.

The group however, did make some good memorable records in the ‘60s and that’s what I remember.

Please correct me if I’m mistaken but I can’t recall anything of the like of this from the likes of The Beatles/Rolling Stones. Why some folk with a bit of fame and big egos think that the rules don’t apply to them has always baffled me.
