Also i can very much recommend the bottomless brunch they do, I have no issues packing away six pints of Lervig House Party away with some deep fried pickles, a big burger and some fries. Thirty quid, bargain.

I'm drooling again. The food is incredible there (and all gluten free!). And yes, those fried pickles........... Mmmmm.

Just got an email from them saying that Delerium Noel (10%!) is now on tap, along with some other Christmas beers. Might have to have a trip down there soon.

Talking Vault City brewery, I've treat myself to a few tins of this rocket fuel..absolutely tremendous. Full of flavours and alcohol at 13%...

Yours for only £9.50 for a 330ml tinny.

Sheffield is gearing up for the grand opening of Kapital, a Euro-inspired beer hall and restaurant that promises to be the city’s largest and most unique venue of its kind. Located in the heart of the £470m Heart of the City development, Kapital will span 4,500 square feet across two floors, offering an exceptional experience for lovers of fine beer, continental cuisine, and live entertainment.

What to Expect at Kapital

Kapital aims to transport visitors to the heart of Europe’s iconic beer cities—Brussels, Pilsen, Prague, and Munich—with:

  • Fresh Tank Beer: Four towering stainless steel tanks filled with unpasteurized Budvar Czech lager, delivered weekly from South Bohemia’s brewery cellars.
  • Extensive Beer Selection: The largest array of European beers in Sheffield city centre.
  • Pan-European Cuisine: A menu designed to complement the venue’s beer offerings, featuring dishes inspired by Europe’s culinary traditions.
  • Outdoor Beer Garden: Perfect for summer evenings, paired with panoramic views from a private hire space.

Ben Stubbs, co-founder of Kapital and the award-winning Two Thirds Beer Co. on Abbeydale Road, shared his excitement:

“Our vision is to bring something fresh, innovative, and exciting to Sheffield. Kapital will be a truly authentic European drinking and dining destination, and we’re thrilled to bring tank-fresh, unpasteurized Czech beer to our city for the first time.”

A New Chapter for Sheffield’s Nightlife

Kapital will join Sheffield’s vibrant and growing food and drink scene, benefitting from its prime location in the Heart of the City, a transformative mixed-use development that has already attracted several high-calibre businesses.

Ben Stubbs added:

“This location, right in the midst of Sheffield’s transformation, is the perfect setting for an independent business like ours. We can’t wait to showcase what Kapital will bring to the city in the coming months.”

Key Features

  • Location: Heart of the City, Cambridge Street.
  • Opening: Early 2025.
  • Unique Selling Point: Sheffield’s first-ever tank-fresh Czech lager.

Follow Kapital’s Journey

Construction is well underway, and anticipation is building for Kapital’s opening early next year. For updates, visit the Kapital website or follow them on Instagram at @kapitalsheffield.

With its innovative approach and authentic European charm, Kapital promises to be a game-changer for Sheffield’s social scene.

Reminds me of the Bier Keller and Hofbrauhaus about 50 years ago - obviously minus the Oompah band.

I wonder if they'll sell any St Mars of the Desert - Sheffield's finest artisan brewer of high quality beers.

Anyway, looks like a tempting venue for when I'm feeling flush. Top Marx.

Over a fiver a can for cloudy beer, Might take up homebrew again.

Yes it's expensive but it's totally worth it. Phenomenal beer, not for everyday drinking on my budget, but several cuts above what you normally get.
