prince al Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Thanks. I haven’t read all the thread, for no particular reason.
Andy_terrier Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Once on the tram going to work and some school kids were being loud. An old guy asked them to be quiet, one of the kids said no so the guy punched him flush in the face. Tram stopped, people holding the guy back, kids escorted off the tram and looked after by the conductor whilst the police called. Kid was maybe 15. Being the big man in front of his friends till he got punched and very quickly became a child again. Old guy well out of order.

As stated, mental illness is not an excuse for antisocial behaviour. However, mental illness can cause people to behave inappropriately in public. Note the word “can”. It isn’t an excuse, it doesn’t mean it’s OK, it doesn’t mean everyone with mental illness does this or all antisocial behaviour is caused by mental illness. I am simply saying that mental illness can be a cause of inappropriate and yes, antisocial behaviour and perhaps it would be better for more of us to be understanding of this. 2
