I think a lot of these incidents with people kicking off are due to Mental Ill Health.  People with Mental Health issues aren’t being supported and so it’s not surprising these incidents happen.  Normal people doing their jobs and going about their everyday business shouldn’t be subjected to these attacks.  
Obviously I’m not saying that was the case in this particular incident but it is an issue.

You can't say 'normal people' because it implies that the people in question are not normal.

It's also well into Xmas party season, so there's every chance someone had a skin full the night before and is either still half cut or has a stonking hangover and a short temper.

So why speculate when you don't know the facts. There could be 1001 reasons ( well, a lot) why this happened, Don't try and guess.
