Anyone know what on earth is going on with the roadworks at Woodseats at the moment please? Trying to commute into Sheffield from Derbyshire is an utter nightmare this week? The knock-on-effect is absolutely horrific!

Honestly it's like that all over Sheffield. Feels like you can't go more than 500 yds without having to queue for another set of temporary traffic lights because someone has dug up a tiny bit of the pavement but need to reduce the road to 1 lane, whilst they wait days for next lot of workmen to come to fill the hole back up.

It's just getting ridiculous.

It was due to a temporary traffic light on the main road while Northern Powergrid people did some digging. It's back to normal now as of last night and traffic is flowing freely again. Or as freely as can be considering it's Woodseats 🤣.

Woodseats and South Sheffield in general has always been the same. The road layout is not fit for purpose, stumping growth. Contrast the road network to North and East Sheffield where there are mainly dual carriageways and generally more free flowing - except for pinch points such as Wadsley Bridge etc.
