SheffieldForum Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Which ad? Which Home Screen? You may want to scan your computer with anti-virus software, in case you have some kind of Trojan files installed? 1 Sheffield Forum | The Sheffield Guide | The Sheffield Shop
RollingJ Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Looking at the screenshot in the original post, I suspect it is the users actual initial 'home screen', in which case a full malware/trojan scan is the best option. I suggest they download and run 'Malwarebytes'- and/or use the Microsoft scanner. 1
Greenveg Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 I have tried running Malwarebytes and AVG Antivirus. Both show no threats.

Have you tried Windows Defender as well? I am surprised MWB didn't find anything, TBH, because it is obvious there is something there. Have you recently downloaded and installed any apps?
Resident Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Looks like you've inadvertently added the webpage to the Chrome Startup On your computer, open Chrome. At the top right, select More Settings. Under 'On startup', select More Edit or Delete. 2
Greenveg Posted December 3, 2024 Author Posted December 3, 2024 I can see on Start Up the two sites which keep appearing on boot up, but I cannot see how to delete them. When I click on the three dots to the right of the site address, the drop down menu does not show Edit or Delete.

Greenveg Posted December 3, 2024 Author Posted December 3, 2024 I think I may have solved it. I opened Settings > On Start Up > Open a specific page or set of pages. I deleted all apart from Google.co.uk. When I boot up, the tabs are no longer there.
