Monkesreturn Posted Saturday at 11:01 Posted Saturday at 11:01 Just to leave this here for context. This being the squad that beat Sunderland in a top of the league clash last night! All about those parachute payments and ridiculous signings ๐ ย There is a nice mix of free transfers and academy players in there. ย Cooper (2 million) Souttar (loan) Robinson (500k) Burrows (3 million). Gilchrist (loan) JRS (1 million loan fee) Peck (academy) One (academy) T Davies (free). McCallum (free) T Campbell (free) Callum O' Hare (free) Hamer (13 million) Souza (8 million) RND (academy). Seriki (academy) 3
m williamson Posted Saturday at 12:42 Posted Saturday at 12:42 Thanks for that Monkes it's both impressive and encouraging.ย Our Academy has produced some excellent players over the years.ย When England played Italy in the Euro Final we had four academy players in the squad, two of them on the pitch. Our problem is holding on to them, or alternatively getting top money for them. Also, looking at that team above I can't help thinking that Wilder is far better at unearthing free diamonds than shopping for gold ornaments, Campbell, Davies and McCullum are all good players and hopefully if they remain injury freeย ๐คย will do the job for us. Wilder also brought in McGoldrick on a free and it was worth paying the entry fee just to watch Didzy. ย
Alextopman Posted Saturday at 13:00 Posted Saturday at 13:00 Having a level playing field helps, no one likes kicking uphill. 2 weeks before the season started we were very concerned but Wilder pulled a few master strokes and look at us now.ย About 15 points from safety and it's not even Christmas yet. Dem Johnny come lately's are showing those rent dodgers how it's done.
Pipeworks Posted Saturday at 14:07 Posted Saturday at 14:07 Well, just for context, real context, why not talk about signing on fees for the free agents, loan fees, and inflated wages which we know are paid to free signings that are out of contract and loanees to entice them in. Then the wages of the big money signings, canโt come cheap. The inflated wages are interesting as itโs not that long ago that the Big Baby was moaning about the wages Wednesday players were being paid, remember that? Of course, you also have Rhian Brewster and Kieffer Moore to consider as well, fees and wages. If Brewster (cost millions) is still at TโLane or did Liverpool trigger the buy back clause. As for the parachute payments themselves? I donโt understand why some Wednesdayites go on about them so much. They can't be that good for any club that's in hock to foreign banks by so much. Are the loans still secured on the stadium by the way? Theyโre your reward for being humiliated every other year. Certainly not a situation Iโd like Wednesday to get into. 1

The stadium you don't even own anyway.

So relax, chill out and try not to be so obsessed with Dem Bladesย ๐ 2 1
