I've attended a myriad of interviews at shops in Meadowhall and other places under the "guaranteed interview" scheme, yet as soon as I get there and go through the interview process, I'm obliged to tell them that due to having support workers in at weekends, I can't really work evenings or weekends which are of course mandatory in retail. Would there be any way round this? And don't give me that "reasonable adjustments" nonsense, I've used that, and what's "reasonable" is open to interpretation at the employer's discretion IMO. Apologies for the long but I've spent most of the last nearly 30 years gaining qualifications in retail and other stuff, but I can't get a job despite extensive efforts (you see, contrary to popular belief, I am NOT a workshy slave to the benefit system) A friend tells me BHF in Rotherham centre and Barnardos at Parkgate are recruiting volunteer staff. The BHF is retail, the Barnardos is stockroom volunteer. There are a few others on Google too if you're interested matey 👍 (Can't share the Google results page so here's a screenshot) 1

And as much as I'd be willing to work at Barnado's, Wickersley would be a pain to get to. And no, I'm not trying to put obstacles up.

What are the two things wrong with applying online? 1) Read my reasons for not wanting to apply to work in Rotherham, ie the logistics of getting there seeing as I do not drive and probably never will. 2) Read the bit where I said I've worked for the British Heart Foundation previously.

Even a Hotel Assistant like Manuel in Fawlty Towers (except not Spanish ) In fact I applied to the IBIS in Town last year (behind Ponds Forge Leisure Centre), got rejected for the same reason I keep getting rejected for retail jobs, I can't work nights.

Thats fair enough but on the first page you suggested there were two issues with applying for jobs online.

I might be wrong, geography isn't my strength.

My bold. It's actually pretty easy to get to Rotherham from Sheffield these days. I don't use busses but I hear there's a decent amount throughout the day. Have a look at transport links. Maybe it's changed since last time you checked?
