How can I shift scanned image to documents

My Canon Pixma MG 2552s printer scans pictures ok and the thumbnail appears onscreen. But I want the scan to go to documents in my pc. The advert for the printer says it connects via USB and not wireless which is fine since my pc has no wireless connection. How can I transfer or copy the scan to documents in my pc?

The thumb nails onscreen after scanning are part of the printer's process and all my past scans appear there together. These cannot be added to e mails.

Is the scanned image automatically going to your downloads file?

To find downloads on your PC,  press the Windows logo key + E. Under Quick access, select Downloads.

To add, the scanned image could go to your "My Pictures" in Windows. Check there.

Thanks guys, Your replies are very useful and appreciated. Yes, I finally found that the scans had already gone to my pc automatically, without my doing anything more than getting them to the picture garden, ie doing a scan. The manual will be very useful.  Incidentally, I'm very pleased with my new printer.
