woolyhead
My HP 2620 printer prints information and page alignment data very well but because it refuses to connect to my pc, either by wireless or by cable, it does not print what I want it to print, ie documents which are shown on the pc screen. How can I make it do what I want? What am I doing wrong that causes this problem? What can I check?
RollingJ
First question - has this printer ever worked on this PC?
woolyhead
Sorry for the delay. No, this printer is new to me and has never worked with this pc.
RollingJ
OK. Sorry to do this step by step, but did you follow the installation instruction? I suspect you will have to install some drivers.
woolyhead
This printer has a cable which I assume is for connecting it to the pc. It is also equipped with wireless which I assume is for operating the print function remotely. But what I find difficult to deal with is that the online instructions for setting this all up is to disconnect the special router connector from the pc, switch to wireless connection from pc to the router and switch on Bluetooth. What's the reason for all this? I don't want to operate the printer remotely so why can't I connect the printer to the pc using the cable and get it all to work like that? About following the instructions, I read them and was struck by the thought I just wrote plus the worry that I don't think I have the Bluetooth which they mention. If I do have it, I have never switched it on.
RollingJ
I'll have read of the instructions sometime today - hopefully - and see what I make of them.
RollingJ
I have just downloaded the user manual and read the 'setup instructions' - such as they are - but do not see any reference to Bluetooth - any chance of a link to the instructions you followed, please? But if I can get the instruction manual that you found perhaps I could use that instead.
