Auction house recommendations

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am a trustee of a charity and we have a few items that we would like to sell. They need to be valued/and or sold at auction, but we're put off by reviews saying after commission and others fees, sellers are hardly left with anything.

Does anyone have a good experience with any of the Sheffield auction houses that you would recommend or other suggestions of where to get items valued?

We've looked on social media selling websites but they don't really give an accurate valuation and prices vary quite a lot from seller to seller.

Thanking you in advance

Try doing it yourself where people will be supportive of the charity, the usual ones have a set of regulars who are paid up members of the ‘owt for nowt brigade’. Some professional auctioneers will offer their service free of charge if the charity interest them. Good luck. 👍

Hi, we sell for many, many charities and don't charge any commission for them, as long as you are a genuine, registered charity, we would be delighted to advise on your items and suggest relevant auctions we'd be happy to offer them in. 🙂

Well there you go. 👍

I have a large number of Elizabeth Taylor items - her brand - which I have collected (and still am collecting) for her Aids Foundation,  I was intending to use Adam Partridge Auctioneers,  based in Knutsford, Cheshire.
