SheffieldForum
A long-closed Sheffield city centre pub is set to reopen as a coffee house and cocktail bar. The Wig & Pen pub on Campo Lane, which shut down during the Covid pandemic over three years ago, is undergoing a transformation and will soon be known as The Beaten Track. The new venue, located behind Sheffield Cathedral, is expected to open in late July or early August. Christopher Harris, an experienced mixologist who has previously worked at Browns and Ego Mediterranean, is spearheading the project and is currently recruiting staff for the opening. Harris shared with The Star that The Beaten Track will offer a mix of signature and classic cocktails, such as Berry & Cucumber Daiquiris, Hot Honey Margaritas, and Turkish Delight. The bar aims to provide a unique experience combining high-quality coffee and expertly crafted cocktails. Looking at the photos on Facebook it seems to be mostly Heineken products.

Stannington Lad
I think I only went in once and that was in the mid 80s. I always got the impression the joint thought it was a lot more exclusive than it actually is for some reason; a bit like All Bar One.
