Not strictly true, the Dutch Prince of Orange, about to become King William III of Britain and Ireland landed at Brixham harbour in Devon on the 5th of November 1688. He arrived with a force of 500 ships and 14,000 men in order to invade if necessary. He had been invited by a bunch of English traitors ( but if you end up on the winning side that's conveniently overlooked. ) who wanted to usurp the British throne for their own personal ( religious and financial ) benefit. So he didn't have to use force initially.

It kicked off a bit afterwards but he was invited in originally.
