This popped up in my emails earlier How many migrants come to the UK? Full Fact How does migration to the UK compare internationally? The Migration Observatory suggests that the UK has experienced “broadly similar levels of migration compared to other high-income countries, on average, over the past few decades”. Measuring the impact of migration by comparing the size of the foreign-born population as a percentage of the total population, the Observatory found that the share of foreign-born residents in the UK was similar to other ‘high-income’ countries such as the US and the Netherlands. Both the UK and US foreign-born population share was 14% in 2022, coming in at 15% in the Netherlands. This was slightly higher than France (13%), but lower than Spain (16%) and Germany (17%). 1

Important difference 😀 1 hour ago, Mister M said: It's Jack Daniels, so it's whiskey with an e I'm sure you guys know the difference, but for general enlightenment, I added this to a different forum a while ago, hopefully to explain the reason for the "e" From what I’ve read previously, the inclusion of the “e” relates to the original translation from Scottish or Irish Gaelic. Whisky or whiskey? just one of several similar websites A handy guide to understanding the difference between whisky and whiskey Re “Scotch Whisky”, that’s covered by specific legislation https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2009/2890/regulation/3

Well whatever is going on, if Nigel Farage is being quiet, that can only be a good thing! Let's have more of it

Let's have more of it Farage is too busy toadying up to Trump to deign to bother with the UK. I'm sure his constituents in Clacton on Sea are getting a brilliant service Given the recent wearher I'd have thought small boat crossings pretty negligible and as is normal, the vast majority of immigration is coming in on scheduled flights to UK airports.
