Baz1
Phil Foden has returned home for a 'pressing family matter'. Probably his family going mad over the boring football being seen.

Probably his family going mad over the boring football being seen. Hope all is OK, but respect to him for putting family first. If he doesn't make the next match, that may solve the problem of where to/whether to play him. Perhaps in the next match we may see a genuine left winger in Anthony Gordon for more than 90 seconds this time!

May be the only way Southgate would change formation/ players if some simply weren't available!

wearysmith
To borrow from Nick Heyward, "Where do we go from here..?". We've qualified for the next round yet people are understandably disgruntled at the 3 games we've wholeheartedly supported. Winning the right way? What is that? What is the level of realistic expectations of the average England fan? I'll moan at the 53 times the ball's passed back to bloody Pickford but I'm pleased we're through. Should we accept the 'We're crap but we're through' mentality?

Boring, Boring Arsenal Shades of 1-0 to the Arsenal ....without the 1 ... but Arsenal were invincible Can a crap, unbalanced team with no left side, great forwards all competing for the same roles and a threadbare defence win it? Have I the enthusiasm to still follow football after what this competition has served up so far? Thirsty Relic
===UPDATE===== OK - we've reached the next stage, so it's time for a progress update: We've had to say our "Goodbye"'s to a number of teams, including the following who had supporters in our own "fan zone": Croatia - Baz1 Czech Rep -Beechwood S6 Hungary - Al Bundy As I see it, we ALL have teams to follow for the next round.! Congratulations to all competitors! Ties of particular interest coming up: France (Padders, Baron99, Cressida) v Belgium (BigPP) Romania (Al Bundy) v Netherlands (BigPP, hackey lad) Portugal (Thirsty Relic, hackey lad) v Slovenia (Thirsty Relic) Good luck to those who are not facing other competitors in this round - let's get as many of us through to the next round as we can. Congratulation as well to anyone who is guarenteed a competitor in the Quarter Finals!! I hope i've got all this right, if not plese let me know! Oh, and banter around the forthcoming matches is welcomed, both here and in Padders Bar!
