I inherited a couple of rolls of very old exposed film that I'd like to have developed. They're most probably pre-1963, as that's when my father died.

One is a 120 Ultra rapid from Gratispool (originally a Glasgow business but now defunct) and the other a Kodak Verichrome Pan 127.

Could anyone recommend where to get these developed locally that won't involve a mortgage please? I've tried Harrisons already.

Obviously I'm not expecting great results after all this time so don't wish to spend a fortune, but nevertheless very curious.

Gratispool is very specialist, and on the slim chance you can get it developed it will probably only be in Black & White.

You'd need a specialist, which don't personally know of any in Sheffield.

I'd be tempted to get in touch with AG Photolab. You'd have to send it to Birmingham, but they are about the closest I can think of that may be able to deal with it (I'd email them with pics of the film canister/box to check first): https://www.ag-photolab.co.uk

Try Harrison's on London Road.

They specialise in the old school stuff.

Thanks XBoxMan2024, I tried Harrison's already but they were even too 'old school' for them! ;)

I live in hope there may be some kind soul somewhere that may do such developing as a hobby, as the professional prices I have found online are way out of my budget so far.

Howardkan, did you have any luck with yours?

As a thought — have you tried either of the University’s photography departments / photography societies?

A long shot perhaps, but maybe worth a try?
