The Russian president also said that he had "no interest" in attacking Poland or Latvia, saying he would only do so if either country were to attack Russia.

"It goes against common sense to get involved in some kind of a global war and a global war will bring all humanity to the brink of destruction. It's obvious," he says.

However, it should be remembered that in January 2022 Putin said he had no plans to invade Ukraine, just days before he sent tanks and troops over the border.

 

Watch out for history repeating itself after Poland decides to attack one of Russia's Radio stations

You were telling us this from the beginning  -  have you forgotten.

However, we decided to trust our own judgement and we were right.

He can't even rely on his own people to trust him,  which is why  he prevents the opposition running in elections.

surely it doesnt matter what Johnson said or not? if Putin really wanted to end the war he'd pull his troops out...then Ukraine wouldnt have anything to carry on fighting against????

and you call me a bottler, this post was a straight forward reply on the subject you quoted and emboldened to which i believe was the correct answer. whats a matter was it too hard to counter what i said? instead you have to resort to snipping the whole thing and crying.

You've only got Putin's word that he spoke to Johnson at some point in, from the very brief bits I've seen of the interview, a very one sided interview with Putin controlling the narrative.  There again, Carlson might be fearful he'd possibly fall out of a Moscow hotel window if he asked any probing questions? 

 

As I understand it the interview lasted around 2 hours & not once did Carlson challenge Putin on the subject of war crimes like a proper journalist would.

True. Johnson denied it but seeing as Johnson couldn't tell the truth to save his life I'd prefer to belive what I saw 2 years ago (which wasn't putin saying it but an American independent journalist)I did supply links at the time but no doubt they are long gone as the thread was pruned at some point.

I agree, Carlson should have asked him about that. We need both sides of the story when possible war crimes are involved
