Indeed, but the point was that if you took away the camp smut there wouldn't be much left.

Forsythe, Dawson , Barrymore Monkhouse etc , consummate professional’s . Todays bunch, amateurs.

Dawson was my absolute favourite !  Especially when he did the sketch about the two old women with their arms folded and their hair in curlers gossiping! Absolutely histerical !

Just typical of todays so called comedians, Garbage!:gag:

"Today's so called comedians".  Good grief he's been on the circuit since around 2003 and on television since 2007.

Whatever the critics, some must like him because he has a record total tickets selling out the O2 and even managed to break into America with his game show which is no easy feat.

Comedy is always subjective and to be honest looking back at some of those great classic old comedians with modern day eyes, it's not all that good. Some of the material deep down really wasn't that spectacular and neither were lots of the light entertainment shows of the day.

For every Morecambe & Wise and Two Ronnies we had Little & Large and Copycats...  For every Faulty Towers there is a Curry & Chips...

I have often said before, did we really love it so much or was it more that we only had three channels to choose from.
