RJRB Posted January 12 Posted January 12 This thread should not be too contentious. My wife asked me to pick up some Bramleys to make a crumble for visiting son. Called in Tescos (Infirmary Road)and they had some which were literally the size of golf balls. I can’t believe they were on sale but they gave me a laugh.

Sometimes Tesco's fruit and vegetables are pathetic, some of their root vegetables are better 'ploughed back in at source as additional soil nutrient' rather than be classed as food waste! Sheffield Market or Sharp's on Abbeydale Road is the best place for fruit and veg.

Baron99 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 There was something in tbe radio yesterday about supermarkets taking smaller fruit & veg from UK farmers. The fruit & veg being affected by the weather but the supermarkets are taking & selling them to keep the UK farmers going.

There are better places to buy fresh fruit and veg.
