echo beach #1 Posted November 4 (edited) I expect many on here will not remember Mark who has recently died aged 83. He was scouted by Manchester United in 1955 and recruited into the ‘Busby Babes’ arguably the best youth set-up ever seen in football. After the Munich air disaster in 1958 which killed 23 people including 8 of the ‘Babes’ he helped the team recover. In 1963 Wednesday signed him for £17,000 but in 1964 he broke his leg and the following year broke it again. After that he joined Fulham. Mark was born in Ridgeway and he attended the village school followed by 4 years at Frecheville secondary modern. RIP Mark. echo.
