Another tough day for Sheffield's finest team in what is the best football stadium I've ever visited.

The stadium does look impressive. I went to the old one two or three times. The old one had a similar feel to the Lane. About the same size and quite closed in.

I hope we can get a result as I don't know where a win is going to come from. I foresee another close lose.

The only good thing with all these close loses, is that our GD will stay low, and could be important at the end of the season.

Hearing that an number of players have come back from international games with injuries, including Egan.  Spurs' playing some great football.  Can't see us getting anything.

2-0 to Spurs.

Not wanting to be clever or dispute the Spurs Ground comment , But the best ground I have ever had the pleasure of watching a match in is Causeway Lane the home of Matlock Town .

Sitting there on a nice day surrounded by the Derbyshire Hills is worth the eight quid attendance fee ten times over .

I have been to many pro grounds but still prefer the old historic ones .Its like being part of history .

Not wishing to dispute Matlock but you maybe couldn’t beat emley fc’s ground just under the tv mast on a crisp January Monday  night for an fa cup replay in front of their partisan supporters up the hill from Huddersfield . They’d get well into 4 figures

then retire to the bar until the early hours with the local Bobby watching over things and then a carful drive home . Pies were good as well none of your balti pies there!

Its typical of these grounds , Two more favourites of mine are Buxton and Worksop Town , The worst I remember was Halifax a long time ago stood on a shale covered bank cum kop . I loved the Lane when you could walk around to the other end at half time passing the score board to groans or cheers as the Owls half time score went up .

They can say what they like togga was better then with footballers being mostly local and with names you could associate with.

The Buxton FC ground used to be directly opposite the Police Station, not sure if they're still there or not.

Years ago I used to visit the police at Buxton once a month on business. On one occasion the two cops I was having a pint with told me about something that happened a couple of days before.

They'd walked out of the station and there was a match on so they decided to walk across and watch. They'd only been watching for a few minutes when they got a bit annoyed by a group of lads behind one of the goals who were shouting at the top of their voices and coming out with some right obscenities. There were some women and kids watching so one of the cops called a steward over and asked him to have a word with the lads and ask them to cool it a bit.

The steward went over to the area and at the top of his lungs shouted " Oy you F@@@s shut the F@@@ up or I'll throw the lot of you f@@ing  W@@@rs out! "

The two cops looked at each other and without speaking came to the conclusion this situation was best avoided, they left.

I'd prefer the pie and peas. Can't imagine what Jimmy Hagan tasted like.

Stockport in the 60's, the first ground I ever saw cushions on the seats in the stand, they all ended up on the pitch.
