dynamicdebz
I have a hiatus hernia & get acid reflux, all aprt of a condition I have (scleroderma). I also had the helicobacter pylori which had caused a small ulcer (both gone with several antibitoic treatments). I take a 40mg omeprazole everyday which allows me to eat more or less anything. I also have to have the camera every year (both ends) to make sure nthing else is happening. I tried the camera once without sedation, never again. I now have sedation every time & I don't know afterwards that I've had it done. I am gonna look up the operation mentioned by rooby but maybe of no use to me because I can be quite sickly due to my condition. My suggestion is if it hasn't gone in a week go to your GP, he will be able to advise you best, it maybe nothing or could be 1 of the things mentioned on this thread. Better to be safe than sorry & if you need to have any test that you don't like the sound of speak to your GP they maybe able to ease your mind or give you alternatives. Jabberwocky
My OH uses a pregnancy forum and some of the mums to be on there swear by a spoonful of vinegar to cure indegestion. According to them it works wonders so Im gonna experiment the next time I have it.
mojo1
Aloe Vera juice is good. It's pricey and tastes vile but it's really good for you. You can get it from Holland and Barratts

Did you really have indigestion though or did you just do it for the laugh? (Vinegar does work by the way)
Jabberwocky
Did you really have indigestion though or did you just do it for the laugh? (Vinegar does work by the way) Well I was meaning to try it out but I didnt get indigestion... I swallowed rather a lot of pastry earlier (I ate all the pies) and the indigestion came galloping along. I usually take pills the doc gave me but... vinegar actually works faster! I just hope the vinegar makes me fart as deliciously as the pills do....
Nodens
I have been suffering now for the last few days and im unsure why - Any ideas how to get rid of it? Gaviscon is good for heartburn, indigestion and gastric reflux. Drinking beer or wine on top of a big meal can cause reflux.

purplepippa
Gaviscon is great for short-term acid indigestion (it really does feel like the firemen come in and hose it down!!), but if it goes on longer go to your GP to get something like omeprazole which is very effective. I took it for a while when getting acid indigestion as a side effect of another med I'm on. Now I don't take it, but always have some Gaviscon around for the odd attack.
