Burt Bacharach, the composer of classic pop songs including I Say A Little Prayer and Walk On By, has died at the age of 94.

In 1958 I bought Perry Como's Magic Moments and Catch a Falling Star on a 78rpm vinyl single from Wilson  Pecks on London Road. I still have it somewhere in the attic. The former was Burt's first big hit and I've added many more by various artistes over the years.

What a brilliant composer he was and what joy he brought to millions of folks all over the world.

In my opinion the best decade for music was the ‘60s and that’s when Bacharach was at his best; as was I!
