Blame the students in the constituency who wanted to give Clegg a bloody nose for backtracking on his tuition fees stance when part of the Tory/LibDem coalition. The students could vote him in and then clear off, it left those of us that live here with the repercussions ! I certainly didn't vote for him. There are many reasons that Labour won in 2017 and have retained the seat since- the students being a minor one. Labour increased its share by 3.8% Liberals share dropped by 5.4% Conservative increased by 10.2% The lost Liberal vote mostly went to the Tories The collapse of UKIP also benefited Labour and Tory but not Liberal He was elected on Thursday 8 June 2017 when a lot of students would have left. The Broomhill Ward, with its large student population, had been moved to Central. Crookes and Crosspool was added to Hallam Hallam had the 13 highest turnout at that election. The students made far less difference than parents of students and former students. One current prediction when the new boundaries are in place for the the next election( when there will be a further dilution of the student population) is: LAB 26,032 47.9% LIB 12,133 22.3% CON 8,628 15.9% Reform 3,477 6.4%

I am referring to your remark about who foisted him on Sheffield and saying similar to the idiots who foisted Johnson, Truss & Sunak on this country. Both main parties are stupid enough to field unsuitable candidates and both parties supporters are also stupid enough to vote for them. Despite the way you talk, the Tories have the most egg on their faces at the moment.
