The consequence of mass refusal to pay might be interesting, to say the least.  I can’t see mass prosecutions, or disconnections or even reductions in credit ratings.  Who knows how the energy companies would deal with a mass civil disobedience campaign.
 Share this content via...

Haven't done for years, pure trash for the masses. I heard it from the owner of a small chain of convenience shops. He has 8 shops I think. I don't think it is if the numbers of people willing to stop paying is high enough. Thing is, will enough people refuse to pay? I don't think so. Hearsay, feeds social media, news, phone strokers.  How much per unit are you paying extra after cancelling your direct debit.
 Share this content via...

It is similar to the way that the poll tax was defeated. I know you liked it, but that was an iniquitous tax. It was civil disobedience, rather than civil unrest that did for that. I’ll tell you my summons for non payment story one day. It is interesting.  If people pay what they paid last year and no more, I think it would give the energy companies a huge problem. They are clearly profiteering, so I think plenty of people would join in.  Let’s see, shall we. My money is on it not getting to that stage.
