Another item that has disappeared is Dentu Crème. It's available EBay  but is expensive.
 Share this content via...
Mister M   1,625 #17 Posted August 5, 2022 With regards to scouring powder, I'm certain I saw some in the Moor Market. There's a stall that sells household cleaning products, and I saw some Vim and thought I've not seen that since the 1970s! I find that baking soda with a spray of bleach very good if the kitchen surface is looking particularly grotty!
 Share this content via...

The last time I noticed it in a shop was in an old fashioned hardware store in Buxton. Can you remember where it was in town; I now live there, after retiring from Crookes. Ta.  I’ve just looked it up - it’s called the Village Saver and it’s still there at 38 Spring Gardens, close to Argos. I’m not sure if they still have household soap but I remember seeing it in box on the floor, along with boxes of toilet soap and carbolic soap.
 Share this content via...

Carbolic soap takes me back we used to have that in the 60s at home
 Share this content via...

Many Thanks for that, I'll pop in next time I'm in town. Also worth a visit if you're over here is The Discount Centre, up near the market place, but tucked away and hard to find. It'd down behind the old Otter Controls gate
 Share this content via...
