Magnificent choreography and lots of atmosphere, in the opening ceremony, but come on now, I know that Simon Le Bon is from Birmingham,but couldn’t they have got someone better ?

Anyway....who else from the local area would you suggest who have global appeal and people will have heard of? Dont say UB40 because that would have been nowhere near as upbeat.

 

Exactly the same reason they got Paul McCartney in to ruin the end of the London 2012 opening - because the rest of the world had heard of The Beatles. Not from London, granted.

I would rather have had someone not from the area but who could actually sing !

Yes, McCartney can no longer sing. Same with Rod Stuart. Tom Jones would have been better !

OK then Pat, name an suitable alternative. Its easy to moan and grumble but you dont actually name who they could have used instead
