Sheffield Fame Tonight

Recommended Posts

A lot of media coverage of this evening's WEURO semi-final at Bramall Lane, esp. as England are (is?) involved.

Coverage on BBC1 at 1925hrs https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0019nd5

and also at https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/62302520

BBC reports that all hotel beds are sold out.

Remember that road closures are operative.

Channel 4 news had a little moment in Sheffield tonight.

Game is over now and final in Wembley stadium.

Sheffield is competing for next Eurosong competition but since we don't have an airport don't think we'll get it.

Do we have a 10,000 seat venue. Another requirement..

Great news for the city. Lots of businesses did well, and puts Sheffield on the map a bit!

Great result too.  Win win

Both of which are outdoor stadia and unlikely venues for Eurovision, so I'm not quite sure what the point is you're trying to make.

Maybe but it is short of one vital thing.  . . . . A roof.

Sheffield Arena doesnt have a roof?

I agree there is no chance in hell of it being here, given the transport links.
