Out of desperation we bought one of those Rodent repeller things, a "Big Cheese" mains one.

It's efficacy can be judged by the fact we installed it in our false roof, and the rat bait from the tray right next to it was taken just as much as from all the other ones further away.

Useless.

Back in the early 80s we had a Mouse infestation, and had to get Rentokil in, as I recall it weren't cheap.

We had a load of Italian mice invade "Padders Bar" during the 2020 Euro's.

The blighters ate all my cheesy puffs...

Electric fence and an air rifle was the best method I used for a rat problem.
