Ghozer   112 #2 Posted June 24, 2022 (edited) births over 100 years old and deaths up to 1957 (those records that have been digitised) are available to search free of charge, via the GRO website at www.gov.uk/bmdcertificates  For 'newer' births and deaths, you can order birth, adoption, marriage, civil partnership and death certificates from the General Register Office (GRO) to help you research your family history and family tree. Most Birth records from 1837 up to 1921 and 1984 to 2022 and Death records from 1837 to 1957 and 1984 to  2022. Information here You can view the Index on the GRO(General Register Office) website for free but you will need to register before searching. *Theses indexes are not the birth or death certificate but they do provide full name of child , year and quarter of birth, mothers surname before marriage and district where registered. From there and you will need the 'index reference number' and you pay them(From £7, £11 for the copy of a certificate).  Sheffield also provides a service for local records Information here
 Share this content via...
