Baron99   790 #17 Posted June 9, 2022 (edited) Said it before & will say it again. People are born male or female & they die as a male or a female. Doesn't matter what they identify in between. A few decades / centuries later, when someone digs up a body, they'll be saying, "Funny this. We got a bloke here but the headstone says Deidre Bloggs."  Your skelton / DNA doesn't lie. Edited June 9, 2022 by Baron99
 Share this content via...

Jomie   30 #20 Posted June 10, 2022 Article by Dame Jenni Murray sums it up - Why is NHS hell-bent on erasing all mention of women?  Surprise, surprise it’s an entirely different picture if you click onto the cancers that affect only men. Take prostate cancer for example. Good grief, that part of the NHS site is positively raining men! ‘Most cases develop in men aged 50 or older,’ it says. ‘For reasons not yet understood, prostate cancer is more common in black men and less common in Asian men.’ The words ‘woman’ and ‘women’ are being erased for the sake of an extremely tiny minority of the population.  Trans identified women are no doubt perfectly cognisant of the fact that they have ovaries - that’s why some have them surgically removed and/or have to take medication.  The advice uses the word ‘woman’ once, on page three. If it can be used there, why not on page one where it would be prominent and clear? Ovarian cancer needs to be caught early if there is to be a chance of successful treatment. This advice is so important that ambiguity is dangerous. Not all women have English as their first language. Not all women will understand what is being said in this advice, and that it applies to them. Note that they don’t say that trans identified men cannot get ovarian cancer.
 Share this content via...

Anna B   1,409 #22 Posted June 12, 2022 This thread has developed into a discussion about Gender Identity. Nothing wrong with that, but I wouldn't call it about 'woke.'  Woke has become almost a term of abuse, but in fact all it means is 'aware.'  The media love hyping up the term woke, to cause outrage/ absurdities/ and to sell newspapers.  Nothing wrong with being woke in the true sense of the word.
 Share this content via...

harvey19   541 #24 Posted June 12, 2022 To me Woke has come to mean giving minorities priority over the majority. I am sure most groups of  people who are now highlighted in the media and other places would just like to get on with their lives quietly. So who is doing all the shouting ? Could it be pressure groups whose funding depends on their active sensational proclamations and demands. Or groups who want to be offended so they have a cause to fight for.
 Share this content via...
